Just ask Timothée Chalamet: 2017 was a big year for peaches. The fruit’s popularity peaked in the beauty sphere right around the time Too Faced dropped its Peaches & Cream Collection back in September, joining the brand’s bestselling Chocolate Soleil Bronzer ($30) in the fast-growing category that is scented makeup.
In May, MAC followed suit by dropping its edible and fragranced lipsticks inspired by treats like funfetti cake, sugar cookies, and banana muffins (or as some people like to call it, dinner). Now, the trend is expanding to your drugstore via some major CoverGirl newness. As Ukonwa Ojo, senior vice president of CoverGirl, told POPSUGAR, the brand will release a peach and chocolate scented collection that includes highlighter, eye shadow, and contour palettes, plus individual blush, bronzer, and highlighter compacts. “The palettes are a playful take on the new neutrals for Summer, and can be mixed, matched, and layered with each other to create different effects,” Ojo said.
All of the products are scented like their respective fruit or dessert, pigmented and blendable, and available in both matte and shimmer finishes. The whole line retails for less than $13, so you can feel like a kid in a candy store without going broke.
The eye shadow bundles are part of the truNaked collection. The Chocoholic option is full of everyday hues such as a cool brown, mauve, and chestnut. Meanwhile, Peach Punch is decidedly brighter, with pops of pink, violet, and coral.
The entire range will roll out at Walmart over the course of June, and everything except the shadow palettes is exclusive to the megaretailer. Get it while it’s hot – or in this case, cold, because everybody knows fruit spoils in the heat.
